(continued from Part 2B…)
4- “The Bibles says the Restrainer (Holy Spirit) will be taken out of the way before Antichrist is revealed and for Him to be taken out, it must mean the church is raptured, since believers are called the temple of the Spirit.“
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one (Antichrist) will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
(2 Thessalonians 2:7-8)
I agree that the Holy Spirit is most likely the Restrainer of the Antichrist. But I do not agree “taken out of the way” necessarily means He will return to Heaven with the raptured saints (assuming a Pre-Tribulation Rapture).
The Pre-Tribulationists may not have realized this but it actually contradicts their “Tribulation converts” theory mentioned in an earlier post (check out Part 2 ).
After all, who is going to convert the so-called “Tribulation converts” if the Holy Spirit is gone? Does it mean they will not have the Spirit in them? If that is the case, can they still be believers?
In addition, the Holy Spirit is believed to be the “eyes” that God uses to see everything on earth (Zechariah 4:10/ Revelation 5:6) and no doubt that He will continue to keep an eye on what is happening on earth during Tribulation. (Please note that I am just using the language of the Bible. I know God is omniscient and does not need eyes to know things.)
Thus, “taken out of the way” does not mean the Holy Spirit goes back to Heaven. It could simply mean He cease to restrain the Antichrist.
