At the Cross, At the Cross…

The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
(Luke 9:22)

Of course Jesus always knew He would go to the cross. The plan has been in place from the “foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8).

He did not have to do it, but He did it.

I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.
(John 10:17-18)

And thank God He did…

Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
(Romans 5:19)
