And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.
(1 Corinthians 15:14)
More than His birth, more than even His death, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single most important event in Christianity. In fact, it is such a big deal that Paul had to repeat himself twice:
And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
(1 Corinthians 15:17)
Does not matter how many lepers and blind men He had healed. Does not matter how many demons He had cast out. Does not matter how many baskets of bread and fishes He could reproduce. If He remained dead, none of those things matters.
But thank God He did not…
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures…
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
