Just when it appeared Man United was heading towards another disappointing draw, Park Ji Sung popped up with a injury time goal that even Cristiano Ronaldo would be proud of. Frankly, I was as surprised as anyone that it was the tireless Korean who turned out to be our match winner. I mean, I can’t even remember when was the last time he scored a brace.
Of course, we still need Chelsea to drop some points. And who better to help us other than the resurgent Liverpool. Fernando Torres struck twice against his favourite opponent to sink the Blues at Anfield. Thank you Torres… despite your poor form ever since you cut your hair, you are still one of my favourite striker, except when you are playing against United.
Another pleasant surprise was Newcastle’s win against the Gunners at the Emirates. It must be one of the worst week in Arsene Wenger’s life after Arsenal’s midweek Champions League loss, rumours of his extramarital affair appearing in the papers, and then this. As they said, when it rains, it pours.
Last but not least, Roger Federer won his 3rd major title of the year after defeating Novak Djorkovic in the Basel Open. He may be as dominant as before, but you would still be hardpressed to find anyone who can match him on his day (maybe except for Nadal). The Fed Express just keep rolling…
